We are delighted to say that we have been asked to take our pop up bookshop to Stansted Park for the new South Downs Food Festival on 14th and 15th September.
This new Festival will be opened by Dame Prue Leith, co host of The Great British Bake Off, and will celebrate the finest South Downs produce with lots of wonderful food and drinks producers. Chef demos will include Thomasina Miers, OBE co-founder of the Wahaca chain of Mexican street food restaurants.
The Festival is organised in conjunction with the Elizabeth David Estate. Elizabeth David was the post-war food writer who influenced many of today’s great chefs and food writers.
We will have range of cookery books on sale and many of the speakers will sign their books in our pop up bookshop. Speakers will include Elizabeth David’s nephew, Johnny Grey, who will be leading talks on the revival of British food culture; as well as food historians Diane Purkiss, Rachel Cooke and journalist Julian Baggini.
